In a grand ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, the Prime Minister felicitated 46 All India ITI toppers during the Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh, marking a milestone in India’s focus on skill development and youth empowerment. Alongside, he launched the ambitious PM-SETU (Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs) scheme and inaugurated 1,200 Vocational Skill Labs across 400 Navodaya Vidyalayas and 200 Eklavya Model Residential Schools.

PM-SETU is a ₹60,000 crore centrally sponsored scheme aimed at transforming 1,000 Government ITIs into modern, industry-aligned training hubs using a hub-and-spoke model.
The 1,200 skill labs are equipped with modern infrastructure and will provide hands-on training in 12 high-demand sectors like IT, automotive, agriculture, electronics, logistics, BFSI, and tourism.
1,200 vocational teachers have been trained to deliver industry-relevant education aligned with NEP 2020 and CBSE curricula.
The initiative emphasizes building a skilled, employable, and entrepreneur-ready youth demographic, boosting India’s journey toward a skill-based, self-reliant economy.
The Prime Minister highlighted ITIs as workshops of Atmanirbhar Bharat and underlined the importance of intellectual strength in nation-building.
