Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan is set to represent India at the 22nd Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore from May 30 to June 1, 2025, joining a distinguished gathering of defence ministers, military chiefs, and strategic experts from over 40 countries. This premier Asia-Pacific security summit, organized by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in collaboration with the Singapore government, serves as a vital platform for dialogue on regional and global security challenges.
During his three-day visit, CDS Gen Chauhan will engage in high-level bilateral meetings with senior military leaders from key nations, including the US, UK, Australia, Japan, Singapore, France, Germany, Indonesia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and the Philippines. These discussions aim to strengthen defence cooperation, address mutual security interests, and enhance India’s strategic partnerships across the Indo-Pacific region.
Gen Chauhan will also address the conference on two critical themes: ‘Future Wars and Warfare’ and ‘Defence Innovation Solutions for Future Challenges.’ His participation underscores India’s growing role as a security provider and innovator in the evolving global defence landscape. The sessions will bring together leading voices from academia, think tanks, and research institutions, fostering an exchange of ideas on emerging threats and collaborative solutions.
The Shangri-La Dialogue remains a cornerstone for shaping security policies and building trust among nations. India’s active participation, led by CDS Gen Chauhan, highlights its commitment to a stable, secure, and rules-based international order in the Indo-Pacific.
