In a significant step toward modernizing legislative processes, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla unveiled the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) at the Bihar Assembly on February 7, 2026. The initiative aims to make legislative work paperless, offering members seamless digital access to bills, questions, notices, and committee reports.
The launch event, held at the Central Hall of the Bihar Legislature, was attended by Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh, and Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju. However, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav skipped the function, drawing attention to their absence.
NeVA also seeks to establish a national data repository, linking legislatures across India for greater transparency and efficiency.
