Larsen & Toubro's Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) business has won several large orders worth between Rs 25 billion and Rs 50 billion in major GCC countries. In Saudi Arabia, L&T won a contract for a 380 kV substation to enable solar power evacuation. The firm also bagged orders for setting up EHV substations, such as a 400/132kV one, in Dubai to upgrade the power transmission infrastructure in the emirate. L&T also secured an order for a 400 kV substation in Kuwait in a city project. These awards further establish L&T as one of the industry leaders in the power sector in the region and add to the increasing energy requirements of these fast-growing markets.
