Maharashtra has unveiled MahaCrimeOS AI, a new artificial intelligence-powered platform designed to accelerate cybercrime investigations. Developed in partnership with Microsoft, CyberEye, and the state’s MARVEL initiative, the system integrates predictive policing, automated workflows, and multilingual data analysis to help officers process digital evidence faster and more efficiently.
The platform was announced in Mumbai by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella alongside Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Already live in 23 Nagpur police stations, it will be expanded to all 1,100 police stations across the state. MahaCrimeOS AI leverages Microsoft Azure and OpenAI services to streamline case creation, evidence gathering, and legal documentation. It also connects with banks, telecom operators, and public databases to reduce turnaround times for subpoenas and notices. Officials say the initiative will strengthen citizen support and improve the state’s ability to tackle rising digital frauds.
