Middle Menace: CSK’s Middle Order Steals the Spotlight

Chennai Super Kings' middle order has been the most productive in IPL 2025, despite the team's inability to make the playoffs. Batsmen from numbers 4 to 7 scored a total of 1,004 runs in 12 matches-the highest by any team this season. The group batted 48 innings, averaging 27.88 at a strike rate of 134.04, ahead of Delhi Capitals (934 runs) and Rajasthan Royals (893 runs) in the same group.

 

The surge was powered by rock-solid efforts from players like Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja, who partied when the top order did not fire. The middle order batted more balls and assumed greater responsibility, and that made their total all the more astonishing for runs. CSK's season might have bombed overall, yet the resilience and form of their middle order have been one of the compelling stories of IPL 2025.
