Nagpur Ready for Takeoff: ₹8,000 Cr Helicopter Hub to Fuel Jobs & Innovation

Nagpur will soon become a major aerospace manufacturing hub with the establishment of a globally-standard helicopter manufacturing plant. The Maharashtra state government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Max Aerospace & Aviation Pvt Ltd for establishing the ambitious project, which is expected to provide 2,000 direct and indirect job opportunities by 2026.

Strategic Investment and Economic Growth

The unit will be set up with an investment of ₹8,000 crore over a period of eight years.

It would strengthen the aerospace and defense manufacturing capability of India.

It would enhance the employment situation in the Vidarbha region.

Advanced Manufacturing and Technological Excellence

The factory will have specialization in customization, integration, and flight testing of rotary-wing platforms.

It will be a Centre of Excellence, employing international standard technologies.

Its proximity to Nagpur Airport ensures easy logistics and supply chain integration.

Government Support and Industry Cooperation

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reaffirmed Maharashtra's commitment to the early completion of the project.

The project is in line with national initiatives like 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat.'

The MoU was signed by principal officials, namely Industries Department Secretary P Anbalagan and Max Aerospace Chairman Bharat Malkani.

This plant is Maharashtra's first completely owned helicopter manufacturing facility, further establishing the state as a high-technology industry leader.
