The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), in collaboration with the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC) of the Supreme Court, has launched a 90-day nationwide campaign titled Mediation for the Nation 2.0. Beginning January 2, 2026, the initiative aims to resolve pending cases through mediation, promoting faster and cost-effective justice delivery.
Mediation for the Nation 2.0 is designed to ease the burden on courts by encouraging settlement of disputes outside traditional litigation. The campaign focuses on cases with strong potential for resolution, including matrimonial disputes, commercial conflicts, cheque bounce matters, accident claims, and consumer grievances. By promoting mediation, NALSA seeks to strengthen access to justice and reduce delays in the judicial system.
The initiative is guided by the Chief Justice of India and supported by NALSA’s executive leadership. Litigants and the general public are being encouraged to participate actively, with mediation centers across district and high courts facilitating the process. This campaign underscores India’s growing emphasis on alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
