Nokia's Magic Touch: Vi Set to Unleash 5G Storm Across India

Nokia has finished delivering 5G gear to Vodafone Idea (Vi), opening up the path for the telco's commercial launch of 5G in March 2025. The Finnish behemoth will deploy more than 60,000 technology sites, comprising thousands of fresh 4G sites, by the end of the month. Vi CTO Jagbir Singh said that they remain focused on aggressive rollout of 5G, beginning with Mumbai in the vicinity of Holi. Nokia's support also covers Vi's 4G expansion, with ultra-lean sites being considered for India's cities. The collaboration utilizes Nokia's next-generation AirScale portfolio and energy-efficient ReefShark technology to deliver better coverage and capacity for Vi's customers in India.
