The Northeast monsoon has made a powerful impact across Tamil Nadu, with widespread moderate to heavy rainfall reported in both northern and southern districts. According to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai, the showers are expected to persist over the next 48 hours, raising concerns over waterlogging and localized flooding.
Key Rainfall Highlights:
Pallipattu (Tiruvallur district) recorded the highest rainfall at 15 cm, making it the wettest spot in the state during the last 24 hours.
Nalumukku and Oothu (Tirunelveli district) followed with 12 cm and 11 cm, respectively.
