Suratwwala Business Group Ltd. has received environmental clearance from the Maharashtra State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) for its proposed new project Californiaa West. The clearance on July 15, 2025, is a significant milestone for the gated community project to be built near Pirangut in Mulshi Taluka, Pune.
Key points:
-
- The complex will have resort-type villas, bungalows, and a clubhouse, which will offer luxurious living with nature.
-
- Clearance was received under the EIA Notification 2006 upon submission of detailed environmental impact assessments and conformity documents
-
- The site is determined to be outside protected sites, eco-sensitive sites, and inter-state boundaries, as per National Green Tribunal guidelines
-
- Suratwwala has to create a plastic-free zone, utilize non-conventional sources of energy to achieve at least 5% of energy savings, and treat water used in construction as non-potable
-
- The firm should also dispose of construction and demolition waste in a responsible manner and secure all NOCs prior to issuing occupancy certificates
Strategic Significance
Californiaa West is one of Suratwwala's ventures into upscale residential realty, complementing its commercial footprint in Pune's IT corridor at Hinjewadi. The project's location close to Lavasa and Mulshi provides a nature-harmony option to urban consumers seeking weekend breaks or longer retreats.
Investor Confidence
The clearance lends credibility to Suratwwala's regulatory compliance and transparency, which will likely enhance stakeholder confidence for future launches.
