Kush Maini made history as the first Indian driver to ever win a Formula 2 race on May 24, 2025, with victory in the Sprint Race at the legendary Monaco Grand Prix. Maini, competing for DAMS Lucas Oil, started from reverse-grid pole and delivered an impeccable, lights-to-flag performance, resisting fierce pressure from Alpine Academy rival Gabriele Minì throughout the 30-lap encounter.

 

Maini’s composure on Monaco’s unforgiving street circuit was evident as he maintained his lead despite a mid-race safety car and relentless pursuit from Minì.
