The Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is turning heads again, this time for the sheer amount of gold used in its construction. Nripendra Mishra, who heads the temple’s construction committee, shared that 45 kilograms of pure gold have gone into making the temple as stunning as it is today. That’s about ₹50 crore worth of gold, and it’s not just for show—it’s a reflection of the devotion and effort behind this project.

Here’s what stands out:
  • The gold is most visible on the doors at the temple’s ground floor and on Lord Ram’s throne. These details catch the light and give the temple a truly special look.
  • Work with gold is still underway in the Sheshavatar Temple, but the main temple structure is finished.
  • Other parts of the complex, like the museum, auditorium, and guest house, are still being built. The plan is to have everything ready by December 2025.
  • The first floor now features the Ram Darbar, with idols of Lord Ram, Sita, Lakshman, Bharat, Shatrughna, and Hanuman. This area has been consecrated, but for now, only a limited number of visitors can see it. Entry is managed with free passes to keep things orderly.
The Ram Mandir Trust is working on a plan to open up access to more people soon.
Even with the summer heat and ongoing work, thousands of devotees are visiting every day, eager to see the temple’s progress and beauty for themselves.
