Rozgar Mela 2.0, North Bengal's biggest job fair, commenced at Salesian College, Siliguri, presenting more than 10,000 job openings across 60+ companies and diverse sectors. The two-day event aims to empower youth through employment and skill development, aligned with India’s vision of self-reliance and growth.
Rozgar Mela 2.0 began on November 15, 2025, at Salesian College near Don Bosco School in Siliguri, touted as the largest employment event in North Bengal. The initiative is led by the Darjeeling Welfare Society under Rajya Sabha MP Harsh Vardhan Shringla's guidance. Over 60 companies representing IT, banking, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, and more have gathered to offer 10,000+ vacancies, creating a vast platform for job seekers.
The event was inaugurated by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) All-India Sampark Pramukh Ramlal, who emphasized the critical role of self-employment and entrepreneurship in building a strong, self-reliant India by 2047 (Viksit Bharat). Youth were encouraged to embrace skill development and innovation beyond traditional government jobs.
Early success stories from the mela include three youths from Mirik and Kalimpong securing jobs directly through CV screenings, demonstrating the event’s immediate impact. The closing session will be addressed by Governor CV Ananda Bose, reinforcing the government’s commitment to employment generation.
