Salzer Electronics Ltd. (BSE: 517059, NSE: SALZERELEC) has delivered its first commercial smart meter order worth ₹5 crore (50 million INR) in Q3 FY25 and is in advanced discussions with multiple Advanced Metering Infrastructure Service Providers (AMISPs) across India. The company has also received a ₹45 crore (450 million INR) order from a leading AMISP, with evaluations underway for additional contracts. Salzer’s Coimbatore facility, operational since Q1 FY25, aims to scale annual production from 4 million to 10 million smart meters, leveraging backward integration for cost efficiency. The Smart Meter segment is projected to contribute ₹600–700 crore annually, aligning with India’s target to install 250–350 million units under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).
