India and Armenia held a Joint Working Group Meeting on Defence Cooperation in Hyderabad, strengthening their strategic defence partnership. India and Armenia took a major step forward in their bilateral defence cooperation during the Joint Working Group Meeting held in Hyderabad on October 23, 2025. This high-level dialogue underscored both nations’ commitment to deepening collaboration across defence and security sectors, highlighting their strategic partnership.
The meeting featured extensive discussions on various facets of defence cooperation, including defence industrial collaboration and joint security interests. The Indian delegation was led by Vishwesh Negi, Joint Secretary (IC), while Armenia’s delegation was headed by Levon Ayvazyan, Head of Policy and International Military Cooperation Department, Ministry of Defence of Armenia. The exchange of views reaffirmed the longstanding friendship and mutual trust between the two countries.
This engagement in Hyderabad builds on several recent diplomatic initiatives. Earlier this year, the Armenian Foreign Minister visited India, resulting in significant Memoranda of Understanding on cooperation in areas such as medical product regulation. Furthermore, India’s participation in Armenia’s National Day celebration in October showcased the continued warmth in bilateral relations.
