Indian hospitality unicorn OYO has joined hands with Yatra, one of India's largest corporate travel platforms, to target the quickly expanding business travel segment. The tie-up will revolutionize corporate staying by combining OYO's huge hotel chain with Yatra's robust booking platform, targeting traditional metros and new business hubs all over India.
Key Highlights
Mass-Scale Rollout: Over 500 OYO hotels owned by the company—like SUNDAY, Palette, Clubhouse, Townhouse, Townhouse Oak, and Collection O—are coming online on Yatra's website for the very first time. OYO plans to bring on board yet another 1,000 hotels by September 2025, greatly increasing Yatra's inventory in key business centers like Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and other industrial belts.
Target Emerging Hubs: The partnership is poised to serve not only India's prime cities but also Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns, where demand for quality business accommodation is gaining pace due to economic development and new business activity.
Blended Travel & Flexibility: The alliance will be beneficial to companies adopting blended travel schemes—mixing business and leisure travel—and flexible mobility programs, with cost management and employee efficiency that can be boosted.
Market Influence: Indian business travel expenditure accounted for $38.2 billion in 2024, ranking 8th globally and 4th in the Asia-Pacific. The industry should recover to pre-pandemic levels by 2025, driven by strong economic performance and a renewed focus on face-to-face business meetings.
IPO Watch: The action is taken prior to OYO's much-anticipated IPO, marking a strategic step toward grabbing a larger piece of India's booming corporate travel sector.
"With this alliance, it is now possible to serve companies that are embracing hybrid travel programs and flexible mobility solutions to attain cost value as well as employee productivity." — Varun Jain, COO, OYO
