Sun-Sational Agreement: ACME’s 300 MW Solar Pact Energizes India’s Green Goals

ACME Solar Holdings Ltd. signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for its 300 MW Sikar Solar Project in Rajasthan at ₹3.05 per kWh, a historic milestone for India's push for clean energy. The PPA was secured under the SECI-ISTS Tranche XVIII scheme and cleared by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC).

Location: Bikaner, Rajasthan — India's one of the highest solar irradiation locations
Capacity: 300 MW (AC), operational in entirety till June 24, 2025
Expected Output: ~780 million units of green energy annually
Tariff: ₹3.05/kWh, for 25 years
Grid Connection: Connected to Bikaner II substation at 220 kV

Strategic Significance

The project will replace approximately 635,720 metric tons of CO₂ emissions annually
Makes India's goal of setting up 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 more achievable
Strengthened ACME's operating portfolio to 2,890 MW, with another 4,080 MW in the works
