The 200cc naked streetbike wars just got hotter. TVS’s revamped Apache RTR 200 4V and Honda’s Hornet 2.0 go head to head on styling, performance and tech—and both bring strong cases.
In the blue corner, the Apache RTR 200 4V sports sharper lines, an angular LED headlight and aggressive tank shrouds. USD forks up front, a 5-speed gearbox, dual-channel ABS, ride modes and a full-LCD cluster make it feel like a mini superbike. Its oil-and-air-cooled 197.8 cc single pumps out 20.5 bhp and 17.2 Nm, good for a claimed top speed of around 127 kmph. At 151 kg, it’s a bit heavier than the Hornet but still flickable on city streets.
The Hornet 2.0 keeps things simple but solid. Honda tuned its 184.4 cc air-cooled engine for 17 bhp and 15.9 Nm, yet it tips the scales at just 142 kg. You get USD front forks, a monoshock rear, 17-inch wheels, twin-disc brakes with dual-channel ABS and a digital console with smartphone link. It’s lighter, zippier in slow-speed traffic and will hit about 130 kmph flat out.
Prices nudge close—₹1.49 lakh for the Apache, ₹1.57 lakh for the Hornet (ex-showroom). Choose the Apache for sharper power and kit, or the Hornet for everyday agility and lighter feel. Both deliver solid 200cc performance; it really comes down to ride style and brand loyalty.
