Rajkot-based Sadbhavana Vruddhashram, the world’s largest old-age home, has announced a nationwide plantation drive of 151 crore trees alongside a ₹400 crore expansion project. The initiative aims to make India greener while building seven 11-storey facilities to house 5,000 elderly residents, offering free care and community support.
A dual mission of care and sustainability
At a press meet in Mumbai, Sadbhavana Vruddhashram trustees Shri Vijay Dobaria and Shri Mital Khetani, joined by donors Shri Hasubhai Nagrecha and Smt Umiben Radia, unveiled the ambitious plan. The plantation drive seeks to combat climate change and promote ecological balance, while the expansion project at Rampar on Rajkot–Jamnagar Road will create the world’s largest free-care old-age home. With a focus on inclusivity, the initiative will provide shelter, medical support, and dignity to thousands of elderly individuals, particularly those who are poor or sick.
