If you’re in Pune, you’ve probably noticed the weather has taken a dramatic turn. Heavy rain and thunderstorms have cooled things down, with temperatures dropping almost five degrees below what’s normal for this time of year. The India Meteorological Department says this pattern will stick around for the next week. Expect more rain, cloudy skies, and a break from the summer heat. Daytime temperatures should hover between 30 and 32°C, while nights stay pleasant at around 22 or 23°C.

Other parts of Maharashtra are also seeing more rain than usual for June, except the Konkan coast, which might get less than normal. Thunderstorms and gusty winds are likely in districts like Kolhapur, Satara, and Pune, so it’s a good idea to keep an umbrella handy.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan is dealing with the opposite problem. The heatwave there is intense, with places like Jaisalmer and Bikaner hitting highs over 45°C. The forecast calls for more of the same, especially in Bikaner and Shekhawati, at least until June 10. Dust storms with winds up to 40 km/h are possible, and Jaipur isn’t getting much relief either, with temperatures expected to stay between 41 and 45°C.

As for Delhi, the city is in a dry spell. No rain is expected for the next five or six days, and temperatures could hit 44°C by Tuesday. Relief is on the horizon, though, with the monsoon likely to arrive around June 11 or 12.
