As part of a massive campaign to promote financial literacy and combat the rising waves of financial frauds in India, the ICAI's Financial and Tax Literacy Directorate, in association with MyGov, launched the "How to Combat Financial Frauds" Essay Writing Contest. Announced on June 20, 2025, the nation-wide campaign will engage citizens—especially students and young professionals—towards the vital debate on how one can protect oneself from scams, phishing, identity thefts, and investment frauds in an increasingly digital age.
Competitors are encouraged to provide original Hindi or English essays with practical solutions, real-life examples, and doable exercises for individuals and communities to remain vigilant and safe. The contest aims to promote creative thinking and awareness generation, bringing about a culture of responsibility and vigilance.
The posts will be evaluated on the parameters of relevance, novelty, clarity, and language proficiency. The top three winners will receive cash prizes of ₹7,000, ₹5,000, and ₹3,000 respectively. Six consolation prizes of ₹1,500 each will be awarded—three for each of the Hindi and English entries for varied voices and views.
This is not merely a competition; it's a call to action to the nation. With the power of words, the organizers hope to inspire the participants to become change agents, spreading awareness and keeping people financially secure.
