In a perception of the most important 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, the Congress party initiated an ambitious organisational rejuvenation to strengthen its grassroots presence in each and every one of the 403 seats. At the focal point is the "Sangathan Srajan" process, to be completed in 100 days, establishing a five-tier body from district to booth level and reviving frontal organisations, departments, and cells.
New district and city presidents are being inducted with a focus on diversity-70% Dalit, backward, and minority sections, and high youth quotient. Top leaders, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, are also deeply involved in the process, whereas previous and current party presidents are joining the selection process to ensure that no experienced hand is left out. Periodic interactions and opening of district war rooms are to be arranged to keep things going and have discipline since the party is aspiring to pose as a viable alternative to the BJP in 2027.
