Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has resumed all the flights that were temporarily grounded earlier in the day. All the grounded flight schedules that were delayed by many hours were due to heightened regional tensions as well as safety issues.

A spokesman of Pakistan International Airlines asserted that all halted and delayed flights are now free to fly by 10 PM local time. The disruption, which began after the tensions between Pakistan and India escalated, impacted hundreds of flights across the nation. Major airports in Islamabad, Lahore, Sialkot, Karachi, and Peshawar experienced massive delays, cancellations, and diversions, grounding or compelling thousands of passengers to use other modes of transport.

The closure of four major airports meant dozens of flights were grounded, and just a fraction of the scheduled departures were able to take off during the period of disruption. In Lahore, for example, just 10 of 90 flights took off, 34 were grounded and 37 were canceled. The same happened in Karachi, Islamabad, Sialkot, and Peshawar, with many flights being diverted to other cities or canceled altogether.

Following the lifting of the temporary ban on flights, PIA has requested passengers to confirm the revised information and times as the regular services resume. The spokesperson further stated that the airline is flying to clear the backlog and have all the affected flights airborne by the 10 PM deadline.

The passengers are asked to remain in contact with PIA and continue to monitor official sources for information as the situation returns to normal.
