When Loud Met Reserved: Kajol Reveals How Devgn’s Silence Won Her Over

Bollywood star Kajol has talked about the first encounter with husband Ajay Devgn, and it wasn't fireworks or fairy-tale romance. In a candid interview to Radio Nasha, Kajol said that when they met on the set of the 1995 film Hulchul, both of them were dating other people, and there was "no lightning struck moment."

 

"He was just really, really quiet," Kajol described Ajay as he is now. She admitted being baffled by his silence on days spent working grueling hours on the set, laughing, "We've been sitting on set for 8–10 hours. Besides 'Hi', 'Hello', 'How are you?' — how can you not talk?"

 

Despite their drastically opposing personalities, out-going Kajol and introverted Ajay were close enough to each other in time and subsequently married. "It wasn't love at first sight," she went on, "but we sort of came together. and yeah, we got married."

 

Their present relationship, one of Bollywood's longest-lasting couples, has two children and still maintains harmony between their private and public lives with a joke and the truth.
