NTPC Declares Commercial Operation of Kerandari Coal Mining Project

NTPC has announced the declaration of commercial operation for its Kerandari Coal Mining Project. Located in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, the mine is expected to produce 6 million tonnes of coal annually. The project, which began mining operations in April 2023, aims to achieve its peak production capacity by FY 2026-27. This development marks a significant milestone for NTPC, enhancing its fuel security and supporting power generation at its thermal plants. The Kerandari mine is part of NTPC's efforts to increase coal production from its captive mines, aligning with its goal to ensure efficient energy supply.
