Nuclear Powers: Countries with Nuclear Weapons and Their Storage

Nine countries possess nuclear weapons: Russia, the United States, China, France, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, India, Israel, and North Korea. Russia and the U.S. hold the largest arsenals, with over 5,500 and 5,044 warheads, respectively. The U.S. stores its weapons in several locations, including Malmstrom AFB in Montana, Minot AFB in North Dakota, and Warren AFB in Wyoming/Colorado. Other countries like France and the U.K. maintain smaller but significant stockpiles. India and Pakistan store their warheads separately from their missiles, with India having approximately 164 warheads and Pakistan around 170. The global nuclear landscape remains complex, with ongoing debates about disarmament and strategic deployment.
