Odisha's Economy: A Shining Star in India's Progress

Odisha's economy is projected to grow at an impressive 7.2% in 2024-25, surpassing the national growth rate of 6.4%, according to the state's Economic Survey report tabled in the Assembly today. The state's Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) is estimated to reach Rs 9.5 lakh crore, a 10% increase from the previous year. Per capita income has risen by 10.6% to Rs 1,82,548. The robust growth is attributed to strong performance across all sectors, with services growing at 10% and agriculture at 3.3%. The state government approved 133 new investments worth over Rs 2.4 lakh crore between June 2024 and January 2025, potentially creating 1.8 lakh jobs.
