Paetongtarn Prevails: Thai PM Triumphs in No-Confidence Vote, Vows to Serve

Thailand's Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra emerged victorious from her first no-confidence vote, securing 319 votes against the motion in the 500-member House of Representatives. The opposition's challenge, led by the People's Party, garnered 162 votes. Following the win, Paetongtarn took to X (formerly Twitter) to express gratitude: "Every vote helps me and the Cabinet serve the public." The two-day debate saw accusations of economic mismanagement and undue influence from her father, former PM Thaksin Shinawatra. Despite criticism, Paetongtarn's coalition remains stable, reaffirming her position as Thailand's youngest premier at 38. The PM now faces the task of addressing economic concerns and maintaining public confidence in her administration.
