Patralekhaa Pushes Back Against Labels, Asserts Her Own Identity

Actor Patralekhaa has spoken candidly about her frustration with being recognized solely as Rajkummar Rao’s wife, emphasizing that she has her own career and identity beyond her marriage. In a recent interview, she expressed her discomfort with the way people approach her, often using her as a bridge to reach Rao rather than acknowledging her own professional achievements.  

Patralekhaa, who has built a career with films like CityLights, IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, and Phule, shared that she detests being reduced to a title that overlooks her individual journey. She highlighted the challenges of carving out her own space in the industry, stating that despite her husband’s fame, establishing herself independently has been far from easy.  

She also revealed that filmmakers frequently approach her with scripts, not because they want her in their projects, but because they hope she will convince Rao to join. She firmly stated that she refuses to entertain such offers, calling them disrespectful to her craft and aspirations.  

Patralekhaa’s remarks have sparked discussions about the struggles faced by women in the entertainment industry, particularly those married to high-profile actors. Her stance reflects a broader conversation about identity, recognition, and the need for women to be valued for their own contributions rather than their associations.
