Petronet LNG’s Financial Helm Changes Hands as Mishra Moves On

Petronet LNG Ltd has announced Shri Vinod Kumar Mishra has resigned from the position of Director (Finance) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the company with effect from April 18, 2025, after completing his extended term. Mishra's resignation brings to a close an important chapter in the life of the company since he has been instrumental in guiding the financial strategy and development of Petronet LNG over the last few years.

 

Mishra, Chartered Accountant and MBA (Finance), was initially appointed as Director (Finance) and CFO on April 18, 2018, for five years. His term was extended by two years in 2023 after the approval of the company's Board and shareholders, and he can now serve until April 17, 2025. Under his leadership, Petronet LNG also experienced tremendous financial growth, with Profit After Tax increasing from ₹2,078 crore during FY 2017-18 to ₹3,352 crore during FY 2021-22, and the net worth of the company growing from ₹9,720 crore to ₹13,425 crore during the same duration.

 

Mishra's leadership was characterized by his skilful management of key industry issues, such as fluctuating LNG prices, the COVID-19 pandemic, and geopolitical instability. His understanding of finance allowed Petronet LNG to uphold its market-leading position and acquire superior credit ratings, both overseas and domestically.

 

The firm has not yet made an announcement regarding a replacement for the CFO role as of this release. Petronet LNG's Board also appreciated Mishra's leadership and contributions during his tenure.
