Pipeline to Progress: India's Game-Changing LPG Superhighway Set to Fuel the Future

India's state-owned refiners will commission the world's longest liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) pipeline by June 2025. The $1.3 billion pipeline stretches 2,800 kilometers from Kandla on the west coast to Gorakhpur in northern India. The pioneering infrastructure will carry around 25% of India's overall LPG demand, substituting hundreds of trucks currently employed for fuel transportation. The pipeline is going to substantially decrease the cost of transportation and the risk of fatal road accidents of fuel transportation trucks, which had been a burning issue over the past few years. The first phase of the project will commence in March with the entire commissioning expected mid-2025.
