PM To Inaugurate India’s First Semiconductor Fabrication Plant In Sanand

India is set to enter a new era in technology manufacturing with the inauguration of its first semiconductor fabrication-linked plant in Sanand, Gujarat. The state-of-the-art ATMP (Assembly, Testing, Marking, and Packaging) facility, developed by US-based Micron Technology, represents an investment of Rs 22,516 crore.  

The plant is expected to play a pivotal role in reducing India’s dependence on imported chips, strengthening the country’s electronics ecosystem, and creating thousands of jobs. Officials highlight that this project is a cornerstone of India’s semiconductor mission, aimed at positioning the nation as a global hub for advanced technology manufacturing.
