Power Finance Corp Fuels Grid Expansion: Kurnool Transmission Project Shifts to Power Grid for ₹19 Crore

Power Finance Corporation (PFC) has sold the Kurnool Retransmission project to Power Grid Corporation of India for a consideration of ₹190.4 million (19.04 crore). The move is part of India's efforts to augment its power transmission infrastructure, especially to integrate renewable energy. Kurnool project as part of "Transmission System Strengthening at Kurnool-III PS for Integration of Additional RE Generation Projects" encompasses increasing transformation capacity at the already existing Kurnool-III substation and extension work at C'peta substation. This handover comes at a time of recent success of Power Grid to win multiple transmission projects, underlining its presence in boosting the power infrastructure in India and lending support to India's renewable energy ambitions.
