POWERGRID Powers Ahead: Bags Three Significant Transmission Projects

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (POWERGRID) has been adjudged the successful bidder for three inter-state transmission system projects through the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) route. The projects, to be built under the build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) mode, will span the states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. The company acquired the letter of intent for such projects on 3rd March 2025. The projects are the evacuation transmission system for power from Rajasthan REZ Ph-V, development of transformation capacity at Banaskantha, and the integration transmission system for Kurnool-IV REZ. These projects will enhance the national grid as well as facilitate smooth power evacuation from renewable resources.
