President Murmu Highlights Opportunities for Enhanced India-Chile Cooperation in Trade and Technology

President Droupadi Murmu laid stress on the possibility of heightened cooperation between India and Chile in trade, investment, technology, and cultural ties. This as Chilean President Gabriel Boric Font is in India, highlighting a milestone in their diplomatic history. Both presidents recognized the complementary economic agendas of their countries and agreed to tighten relations. India and Chile are to upgrade their trade agreement to a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with an emphasis on sectors such as critical minerals, agriculture, and healthcare. The CEPA hopes to increase bilateral trade, employment, and economic growth by taking advantage of Chile's mining strengths and India's increasing demand for critical minerals.
