Profits Steady, Ambitions Unleashed: Aurobindo Pharma Targets $50 Billion Biosimilar Boom

Aurobindo Pharma has made an announcement today in which it posted its consolidated financial results for the fourth quarter and reported a net profit of ₹902.8 crore, which was nearly flat on a year-over-year basis as compared to last year's ₹907.4 crore profit in the fourth quarter last year. In terms of value, the revenue from operations rose 10.6% from ₹7,580.1 crore to ₹8,382.1 crore. The EBITDA in the fourth quarter was ₹1,792 crore, which represents a 7.1% increase, and the EBITDA margin contracted to 21.38% from 22.10% last year.

 

In the annals of Q4, the company missed analyst consensus profit estimates, but was in relatively close range for revenue estimates. For profit, analysts expected a net profit of ₹1,041.5 crore and revenue of ₹8,368.3 crore.

 

Aurobindo Pharma announced that it is advancing eight biosimilar candidates that target a total addressable market of more than $50 billion by 2030. The company will plan its first US FDA submissions for these biosimilars in FY26, as a part of its growth strategy in the specialty and biologics expansion landscape.

 

Finally, Aurobindo Pharma is continuing to invest in research and development of biotechnology, including contract manufacturing of biologics, with the intent of maintaining and fortifying its global specialty portfolio and supply chain capabilities.
