RCB's Patidar Appointment Echoes Dhoni's 2007 Captaincy: Srikkanth

Former Indian cricketer Kris Srikkanth has drawn a parallel between Rajat Patidar's recent appointment as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain and MS Dhoni's selection as India's captain in 2007. Srikkanth believes that, like Dhoni, expectations will be minimal from the newly-appointed Patidar. The comparison comes after RCB named Patidar as their captain for IPL 2025 on February 13, 2025. Patidar, who has played three seasons for RCB since 2021, takes over from Faf du Plessis. The 31-year-old's appointment marks a new direction for RCB, who have yet to win an IPL title despite reaching the finals three times.
