Reservation is to Empower”: Acharya Prashant Urges the Uplifted to Uplift Others

Spiritual teacher Acharya Prashant has emphasized that the objective of reservation is empowerment and not fragmentation. Speaking on May 2, he said, "Reservation is to empower," highlighting that affirmative action has to be viewed as a tool for uplifting disadvantaged groups and giving opportunities to those who lack any means. Prashant advised that once people benefit from reservation and become secure, they have a responsibility to let others rise as well, and thus form a chain of collective growth.

He also urged society to move away from policy talks and focus on the implementation of data-driven approaches, such as caste census, to ensure that affirmative action is delivered to the most needy. Acharya Prashant's message is to cast reservation as an instrument for social transformation and appeal to the privileged to take an active role in making society more equitable.
