Riyadh Air Eyes Expansion with India at the Heart of Its Global Network

Before launching in 2025, Riyadh Air, the new state-owned airline of Saudi Arabia, plans to establish India as a key component of its global network. By 2030, the airline, which is supported by the Saudi sovereign wealth fund, intends to link more than 100 locations. CEO Tony Douglas highlighted India's significance because of its expanding outbound tourism and sizable diaspora in Saudi Arabia while leading a delegation in India from March 12-14. In order to improve connectivity, Riyadh Air is negotiating strategic alliances with IndiGo and Air India. Additionally, it has designated Bird Travels as its sole sales partner in India. With plans for future growth, the airline will currently operate a fleet of 60 A321neos and 72 B787-9 Dreamliners. In line with Saudi Vision 2030, Riyadh Air wants to increase travel and economic ties between the two nations.
