Robot Elephants Revolutionize Indian Temple Traditions, Promoting Animal Welfare

PETA India has gifted various 3.5-meter-tall and 800-kilogram mechanical elephants to temples in Kerala, which will replace live elephants during rituals. These cutting-edge robots can flap ears, swish tails, blink eyes, and even mist water, providing a cruelty-free solution to the contentious practice of using captive elephants. The project seeks to put an end to the misery of captive elephants while maintaining cultural practices.
