Rowing Against the Tide: Ananya Prasad Makes Waves Across the Atlantic

Ananya Prasad, an Indian-origin 34-year-old, has become the first woman of color to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She finished the arduous 3,000-mile voyage in 52 days, 5 hours, and 44 minutes, coming second in the solo division of the World's Toughest Row race. Born in Bengaluru and brought up in the UK, Ananya took up this challenge with no rowing background, spending three and a half years training hard. Her success not only sets a milestone in adventure sports but also hopes to encourage others, especially women of color, to undertake unprecedented challenges. Ananya's motivation was also to raise money for mental health and to support orphaned children in South India.
