₹63.5 Billion Capital Boost: (Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd) FACT’s Big Leap in Phosphoric, Sulphuric and Urea Plants!

Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd, a prominent public sector fertiliser manufacturer, has sanctioned capital expenditure projects totaling ₹63.5 billion. The projects include significant expansions and upgrades in key production units such as phosphoric acid, sulphuric acid, and urea plants.

The investments are part of FACT’s broader strategy to increase its fertiliser production capacity from 1 million metric tonnes to 1.5 million metric tonnes annually, addressing growing agricultural demand and enhancing self-reliance in critical nutrients.

Among the key projects is the installation of a new 1650 Metric Tonnes Per Day NPK plant at the Cochin division, along with modern storage tanks for phosphoric acid and sulphuric acid, and infrastructural enhancements including ammonia storage and transport facilities.

FACT’s expansion initiatives are expected to generate significant employment opportunities during both construction and operational phases, while improving the availability and affordability of fertilisers for farmers, particularly in Kerala and surrounding regions.

These projects underscore FACT’s commitment to sustainable growth, increased productivity, and contribution to India’s agricultural development goals.
