Running Through Heritage: Delhi’s 16th Champions Run Celebrates World Tourism Day

Delhi marked World Tourism Day 2025 with the 16th Champions Run, a vibrant celebration of fitness, culture, and the city’s tourism potential. Held on September 27 at Gandhi Darshan, Rajghat, the event was organized by Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti in collaboration with Health Fitness Trust, drawing nearly 1000 enthusiastic participants.

Key highlights from the event:

1. The run featured multiple categories including a 10 km open race, 5 km school and adult races, and a 1 km family walk  
2. Participants received race kits, T-shirts, finisher medals, and refreshments, creating a festive and inclusive atmosphere  
3. Winners in various categories were awarded cash prizes, trophies, and gift hampers, with special recognitions like the Sardar Virender Singh Jauhar Samman Puruskar and Smt Rajrani Samman Puruskar  
4. Cultural programs and traditional attire added a local flavor, reinforcing Delhi’s rich heritage

- Delhi Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra and BJP leader Vijay Goel addressed the gathering, emphasizing the city’s transformation into a tourism hub
