1. A Purpose-Driven Portal: Narrowing the Rural Health Gap

Initiative Highlights:

AIIMS Jhajjar launched Sahaym.in, a health portal on the net intended for the aged citizens of India, especially rural India.

The platform provides one-stop-shop access to preventive care resources, mental well-being resources, and welfare programs by the government.

Developed in collaboration with the Society for Rural Mental Health (SRMH), the Health Department, and the Department of Preventive Oncology at the National Cancer Institute, the portal is likely to bridge the health and digital divide for senior citizens.

2. What Sahaym Offers: Simplicity with Substance

Platform Features:

Free web-based health screenings with the Geriatric Health Questionnaire (GeHQ), which can detect early warning signs of memory loss or depression.

Learning materials on physical fitness, mental health, safety, and nutrition.

A simplified interface with large fonts and simple navigation, so it can be used by older people.

State and central government schemes for senior citizens in centralized records.

3. Community and Clinical Backing: A Collaborative Launch

Event Summary:

The portal was launched during the inauguration of a Continuing Medical Education (CME) event named Comorbidity and Mental Health in Rural India.

Over 200 caregivers, mental health professionals, and public health administrators participated in the forum.

Dr. Rajiv Gupta, founder benefactor of SRMH, credited Aaravdeep Sindhu for being involved in the development process of the platform.

4. What's Next: Going Mobile and Going Deeper

Future Roadmap:

Sahaym is also being developed in mobile app form with features such as emotional support services and wellness tracking.

The project is part of a broader initiative to integrate digital health into rural public health infrastructure, with an emphasis on inclusion and early intervention.
