Russia secures top spot in India’s oil imports with 30% market share

Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov confirmed that Russia remains the leading supplier of crude oil to India, holding more than 30% of the market share. He emphasized that despite sanctions on Russian energy firms like Rosneft and Lukoil, Moscow is committed to providing India with competitive pricing and reliable supply. Alipov described poverty and energy affordability as economic priorities for India, noting that Russian crude continues to be the most economical option for Indian refiners. The statement highlights the resilience of Indo‑Russian energy cooperation amid shifting global trade flows.
