Samsung Expands AI Appliance Strategy with India-Specific Features

Samsung is set to enhance its AI-powered appliances by introducing local language support and India-specific features, aiming to drive sales in the competitive domestic market. The company expects AI-based appliances to contribute significantly to its revenue, with a focus on accessibility and user convenience.  

Key highlights of the initiative:  
- Samsung will integrate nine Indian languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Oriya, Tamil, Malayalam, Punjabi, and Telugu, into its Family Hub refrigerator.  
- AI-powered features such as energy optimization, stain wash, and voice control via Bixby will be extended to mid-range appliances.  
- The SmartThings app, which enables users to control Samsung’s IoT devices, has seen rapid growth in India, ranking third globally with 23 million registered users.  

This development underscores Samsung’s commitment to localized innovation, ensuring its AI appliances cater to the diverse needs of Indian consumers.
