Screen Time Sanity: TikTok Gives Parents More Control

TikTok has rolled out new parental controls to assist in regulating the screen time and online engagement of teenagers. The new Family Pairing feature permits parents to ban access to the app at certain moments, such as during school or bedtime, by utilizing the Time Away tool. Parents can also see followers, accounts followed by their teens, and blocked accounts. In addition, TikTok is introducing a Wind Down feature, which encourages teens under 16 years with soothing music and reminders to log out at 10 PM. The goal here is to encourage healthier online habits and facilitate open discussion regarding online safety. TikTok will launch additional features such as a notification system for teens to warn trusted adults when reporting content. These updates show TikTok's dedication to promoting safety and well-being among young users.
