Sebi Releases Industry Standards Recognition Manual

In a move to streamline and enhance regulatory compliance, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has issued the Industry Standards Recognition Manual. Released on February 12, 2025, this manual provides crucial guidance on the formation and functioning of Industry Standards Fora (ISFs). The ISFs, initially launched as a pilot program in July 2023, have proven effective in implementing regulatory instructions and facilitating good governance. The new manual aims to address the varying operational modes of ISFs by establishing self-guiding principles, ensuring uniformity and ease of compliance across different market segments.
