Shami Shines in ICC Events: The Power of Loyalty and Precision

Shami is on an impressive run in ICC tournaments as India's highest wicket-taker in white-ball competitions. In the current Champions Trophy 2025, Shami took five wickets against Bangladesh, raising his ICC event tally to 72 wickets in just 33 matches. The 34-year-old fast bowler ascribes his success to loyalty towards his art and unerring attention to details. "I don't mind getting hit in ICC events, I just want to take wickets," stated Shami. It is his aggressive attitude that has led to record-breaking performances, like becoming the fastest Indian to reach the 200-wicket mark in ODIs. Shami's grit and determination paid off during his recovery from an injury as he now spearheads the Indian pace attack in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah.
